During the question hour session today, the Dramedtse-Ngatshang’s Member of Parliament, Ugyen Wangdi, asked the prime minister whether the government will revisit and amend the Tourism Levy Act of Bhutan 2022. The MP said that there are unfair practices where some are paying the old Sustainable Development Fee of 65 US dollars while others are paying the new SDF of 200 dollars. But the prime minister said that the government will not put the Act for amendment. Lyonchen added that whatever plans are being executed, it should be supported to have a good result. Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said the country has been receiving an increasing number of tourists.
