Amid the pandemic, many economic activities became stagnant resulting in loss of jobs and earnings. However, Dawakha in Paro didn’t lose its footing during a time of economic turmoil, it grew. People in this village were able to make a handsome profit by selling local chillies at a price as high as a threefold increase compared to previous years. A 20 kilogram of green chilli fetched them Nu 2500 this year compared to Nu 700 last year.
