Gomtu Police arrests five for sale of drugs and tobacco products

Gomtu Police arrested three men and two women in connection with border security breach and selling of drugs and tobacco products on Friday in Samtse.

One woman was arrested for selling cigarettes and chewing tobacco, while the other woman was arrested for selling spasmo-
proxyvon, popularly known as SP capsule along with her husband who brought in the capsules some three weeks ago.

The three tested negative for COVID-19, and were directly taken into police custody. The other two men were also arrested for selling SP capsule, which they brought in four days ago. The two men have been placed in facility quarantine.

All five will be charged with breach of border security protocols, criminal nuisance, breach of public order and tranquillity, trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and distribution of tobacco.
