After remaining closed for almost four months, the Gelegphu Tshachu opened to the public last Friday. The hot spring was closed after falling boulders damaged the roof and pillars of the tshachu in June this year.

The Gelegphu Dungkhag Office said the tsachu was opened after the completion of all the maintenance works.

Thousands of people visit the popular hot spring every year. Soaking in it is believed to cure joint pains, stomach aches and skin diseases.

The tshachu is almost 15 kilometres away from Gelegphu town.
