After 36 days of lockdown and with no sign of community transmission in the district, the Sarpang Dzongkhag COVID-19 taskforce decides to ease it in a phase-wise manner from tomorrow. This is as per the recommendation from the Technical Advisory Group (TAG).

The surveillance teams carried out the risk assessment of the containment centre of the frontline workers.

The first phase of unlocking, which was actually scheduled on 12th of this month was deferred following the detection of positive cases in the two frontline workers on September 11. However, during the surveillance, all the primary contacts of the positive cases tested negative.

Meanwhile, on campus learning for classes X and XII will resume from next Monday and classes IX and XI from next Thursday. All the day schools in the thromde will be provided with boarding facilities to prevent the infection of COVID-19. Frontline workers stationed in school premises will be relocated to other locations.
