The price of petrol and diesel in the country increased again. The fuel price has been increasing since January this year. India media reports that the fuel price is going to further rise next month. This, they attribute to reduced dollar exchange rate and increasing fuel tax.

The price of petrol increased by more than Nu 4 per litre across all the districts in the country. With this, petrol is now at Nu 68.44 per litre in Thimphu against Nu 64.31 last month.

Diesel on the other hand also saw an increase. The price jumped from Nu 62.89 per litre last month to Nu 66.41 per litre today in the capital.

In the meantime, the price of the LPG cylinder has also increased. A subsidised LPG cylinder now cost Nu 821 but the non-subsidised LPG cylinder has remained at Nu 893 since last month although there was an increase in January.
