Farm road Constructiony-delayed-SJThe construction of 58.75 kilometre farm road from Jomotshangkha till Shingkhar Lauri under Samdrup Jongkhar will take another year. About 14 kilometres is yet to be excavated.

The construction was supposed to be complete this year.

The Department of Road’s Junior Engineer, Kinzang Wangdi, said the unstable land-form is hindering the progress. He said it becomes even more difficult for them to carry out their work during rainy season.Farm road Constructiony-delayed-SJ-

Kinzang Wangdi said they still have to excavate through two mountains.  “The area is rocky too,” he said.

More than 30 labourers are working to complete the road from 7 in the morning till 5pm every day.

Of the total budget Nu.385 million, almost 95 million has been used so far.
