The Election Commission of Bhutan has received only one complaint during the election petition period. The 10-working day petition period ended today.

The lone complaint was lodged by two men against DNT’s party worker and candidate of Dogar-Sharpa Constituency.

Following an investigation, the ECB fined and warned the two complainants for creating disharmony in the society.

Dissatisfied with the decision, the two complainants appealed to the high court on October 30. But they later withdrew the case.

With the petition period over now, the prime minister, cabinet ministers and the speaker will receive Dakyen from His Majesty The King tomorrow.
