More than 500 people used Druk Ride since its introduction in May this year. Druk Ride is a service which allows people to book bus tickets online to different destinations from Thimphu.

Mostly, people travelling to Phuentsholing and Bumthang prefer booking bus tickets online. Going by what they have to say, Druk Ride is serving its intended purpose.

“The advantage of booking tickets through Druk Ride is that it saves time since we don’t have to travel in person to the bus station for the reservation,” said one of the commuters, Chencho Om.”

The founder of the Druk Ride, Jigme T.Y.Rinzin said when users give good feedback about their service, it only motivates them to work harder and make the online ticket booking platform more user-friendly.

For now the service can be accessed only from their website, www.drukride.com. The founder also plans to develop a mobile app for the service soon.

Druk Ride was developed with the help of Bhutan Innovation and Technology Centre at the Tech Park in Serbithang, Thimphu.
