The Dorji Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang is presiding over the three-day annual Punakha Dromchoe. The Dromchhe began today and will end on Sunday with the demonstration of the disposal of Rangjung Kharsapani into Mochhu. Hundreds of people including tourists gathered at the courtyard of Punakha Dzong to witness the festival during the first day. More than 130 Pazaps are taking part in the event. The Dromchoe will be followed by a three-day annual Tshechu.
