The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body presided over a three-day Chenrezig Drubchhen at the Darla Rinchentse Lhakhang in Chhukha. Hundreds of devotees attended the Drubchhen that concluded today.
The annual Chenrezig Drubchhen was first initiated by His Holiness the Je Khenpo in 2017.
Since then, it has been an annual event.
Rinchentse Lhakhang’s Lam Thinley Namgay said, “the Drubchhen is for the wellbeing and peace of all sentient beings. The Drubchhen was started for the peace and prosperity of the King, country and people. This is the seventh year and the Dorji Lopen is presiding over the Drubchhen. We have the Drubchhen for three days and on the fourth day, we have a Tshechu.”
People gathered at the Drubchhen shared that they feel blessed to have been able to attend the Drubchhen.
“We always attend the Drubchhen and we are happy to come here every year. It is so good to see many programmes like this. We also bring our children to such religious programmes,” said Thinley, a resident of Ketokha.
Yangden, a resident of Miritsemo said, “we are so grateful for such a religious programme in a faraway place like here. The Chenrezig Drubchhen is very auspicious and we are blessed to be here. It is difficult to even conduct a small ritual at home. We are grateful that such programmes are initiated by the Tala Project.”
The Lhakhang was damaged by an earthquake in 2011. It was rebuilt and consecrated in 2016 by His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
