The Pay Commission Report recommends Nu. 1 MN as vehicle quota to the parliamentarians. Each MP receive Nu. 700,000 as vehicle quota as of now.
The Pay Commission says the increase in the amount was felt necessary given the increasing costs of vehicles.
The report also suggests getting rid of more than 1,000 pool vehicles. Instead, it suggests, each of 75 senior officials be provided with Nu. 700,000.

The Pay Commission came up with the suggestion after they found out the pool vehicles being subjected to misuse and viewed as designated vehicles for the senior officers, while the lower level civil servants have limited access.
“Lifting pool vehicles would yield a financial benefit of over Nu. 378 MN,” states the report.
The report says designated vehicles are to be provided only to the Prime Minister, Chief Justice of Bhutan, Cabinet Ministers, Speaker, Chairperson of the National Council, Opposition Leader, Chairperson of Privy Council and Dzongdas.
