Dorji Lopen awards Toe-Tse Jim to two Lams and two principals

The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body awarded Toe-Tse Jim to two Lams and two principals at the Punakha Dzong, today.

Lam Phurpa Dorji (50) from Uesu Gewog in Haa is currently serving as the Lam at Khando Sonam Peldon’s residence in Danglo, Thimphu. He joined the monk body at the age of seven and served more than 20 years in Budrel in the Central Monastic Body. He completed the three-year retreat from Pangkarpo.

44-year-old Lam Kado from Lobesa in Punakha is the Lam of Bjana Goenpa Guru Lhakhang at Samarzingkha in Thimphu. He joined the monk body at the age of 11 in Pung-Thim Dratshang and graduated from Tango Shedra in Thimphu. He received various teachings from several religious masters and served as a teacher at Dodedrak Shedra. He had also stayed in retreat for one year in Tango.

48-year-old Rinchen Dorji from Sangbeykha in Haa is currently serving as the Principal of Lhadzong Tashigang Lobdra in Thimphu. He joined the monk body at the age of eight and completed his studies from Dechen Phodrang Lobdra, Sangchhoekhor and Tango Shedra. He completed his three-year retreat from Tokchong and received teachings from several religious masters.

41-year-old Tobgay from Chapcha in Chhukha is the Principal of Dargay Chhoeling Goenzin Dratshang in Chapcha. He joined the monk body very early in his childhood and received various teachings from several religious masters including a three-year retreat under Drupwang Kado from Lhadzong Tashigang Goenpa. Likewise, he had also served as a principal for six years.

They have been awarded Toe-Tse Jim as an appreciation for providing their services dedicatedly to the communities for a long time.
