A documentary film produced by Bhutanese high school students won a special award at a youth programme held in Delhi, India.
The four minute and 40 second documentary film is about Bhutan’s cultural heritage preservation. It was produced by a group of students from Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School and Dechencholing Middle Secondary School.
The documentary was screened at the life skill and leadership programme held at the Scottish High International School in Gurgoan, Delhi.
The students also took part in the two day programme.
One of the students, Pem Tshering Yonjen bagged a youth leader award.
The programme called “Harmony, Co-creating Tomorrow” was organised by the Global Education and Leadership Foundation based in Delhi.
The students shot the film with the consumer flip cameras. They were among the students who received a training on basic documentary making from the Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy earlier this year.
