The Prime Minister urged people to stop differentiating those coming from districts where COVID-19 cases have been detected. According to the Prime Minister, all those who had contact with the patients are quarantined and taken care of.
Lyonchhen added such practices can bring disharmony in the society.
“The partner is among the 48 people that we have quarantined immediately after the detection of the first case. Now when she tests positive, there is no new contact of her. She has the same contacts as the first patient and those contacts have already been in quarantine. So when a person goes back to his or her village, there are chances one may be discriminated in the village. This may cause social disharmony in the country and we should not let this happen. People should trust the government and Health Ministry,” said Dr Lotay Tshering, the Prime Minister.
