Most countries started travel ban and restrictions with the increasing number of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases. Around 26,000 new cases were reported yesterday across the world with the highest reported in Italy.
And yesterday, the Indian government announced that no scheduled commercial passenger aircraft shall be allowed to land in India from 22nd March for a week. The country has also restricted public transports as citizens are asked to stay home.
Bhutanese travellers were also advised to adjust travel plans accordingly.
Similarly, foreigners will no longer be allowed to enter the Philippines.
Sri Lanka has also imposed a nationwide curfew beginning today till Monday and postponed the election.
Passengers entering Thailand needs to present a health certificate certifying that they pose no risk of being infected by the COVID-19.
South Korea will also test all European travellers arriving from 22nd March.
Meanwhile, California issued a stay at home order to residents. And in the Middle East, Iran has urged its people to stay home during the Persian New year, warning that COVID-19 is currently killing one person every ten minutes.
