DGPC sees increase in power generation

dgpc-sees-increase-in-power-generationThe four-hydropower plants of Druk Green Power Corporation Limited saw an increase in power generation by more than 3 percent in 2015 as compared to 2014.

Druk Green Power Corporation Limited’s four hydropower plants: Tala, Chhukha, Kurichhu and Basochhu generated more than 7000 million units of electricity in 2015.

Consequently, the import of power from India decreased to 158 million units in 2015 from 187 million units in 2014.

The net energy exported to India increased slightly by 157 million units in 2015.

The sale of domestic energy supplied to Bhutan Power Corporation Limited increased by almost 4 percent in 2015.

Druk Green Power Corporation limited saw an overall increase in revenue by almost 3 percent in 2015.
