The Thimphu District Court conducted the opening statement of defendant Khandu Wangmo accused of the commission of criminal conspiracy, mutiny, abettor of mutiny and other criminal offences today. While the opening statement for the other three defendants was conducted last week, she could not attend the hearing on health reasons.

The media were not allowed to attend the hearing. BBS tried to gather information after the hearing but despite our efforts, we could not get any details.

Earlier this month, during the preliminary hearing, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) charged Khandu Wangmo with eight offences.

Earlier, a source said the rebuttal hearing by the OAG will be conducted on Thursday.
