There were around 900 registered Cordycep collectors. However, many did not make it to the auction. The auction was held at Chokor Gewog Centre.
Cordycep is one of the main sources of cash income for the people of Bumthang. Out of four Gewogs in the dzongkhag, people of three gewogs collect Cordyceps.
