Construction-Delayed--Dagana-Lower-Secondary-SchoolThe construction of classrooms at the Dagana Lower Secondary School and a hostel for Gesarling Middle Secondary School has been delayed.

The construction of a building for classrooms and a science laboratory began in January, last year, at the Dagana LSS. It was supposed to be completed by April, this year. With classrooms in shortage, sometimes a classroom has to hold at least 54 students.

To address the problem, the school built temporary classrooms with support from parents, but the Principal of the school said it is not enough.Hostel--Gesarling-MSS-in-Dagana

Similarly, at Gesarling MSS in Dagana, due to lack of space, 56 students have been forced to share beds.

The dzongkhag engineering section said contractors failing to meet deadlines will be dealt with according to existing rules and regulations henceforth. The dzongkhag engineer in Dagana added that a monitoring committee is being formed to prevent such problems in the future.

The contractors, meanwhile, have been asked to complete construction works in the two schools by the end of June, this year.
