The members of Self -Employment and Livelihood for Women in South Asia met in Thimphu today. It is their fourth regional network meeting. The network was formed in May, last year. The members are mostly the NGOs and organisations working towards poverty alleviation and improving the livelihood in the region. From Bhutan, Tarayana Foundation, a Civil Society Organisation is the member of the network.
The Network members met to exchange best practice and lessons for empowering women and building capacity for improved livelihood opportunities.
In the meeting, the members will be discussing the work plans for the priority areas like handicrafts and market access. As part of the program, the network members visited the Institute for Zorig Chusum, Folk Heritage Museum among others, yesterday.
The World Bank is the facilitator of the Network of Self-Employment and Livelihood for Women in South Asia.
