BCSEA- 12 paper recheck-(Update): The English II paper for class XII, which was leaked, will be evaluated starting tomorrow.

Officials from the Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment say evaluating the paper is comparatively a better option even though the decision may not be acceptable to all.

The officials said this would ensure timely declaration and fairer exam results since the penalty will only be for the individuals involved in the paper leakage.

BCSEA has also sought support and help from relevant agencies to continue further investigation.

The decision comes after the Cabinet had asked the Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment’s Board to review the decision not to conduct re-examination.

The students and parents had taken to mainstream and social media alike to let their disapproval be known after BCSEA’s initial decision to award English I marks for English II.

An investigation was carried out in Thimphu, Paro, Bumthang, Samdrup Jongkhar and Chhukha in December had revealed that the paper was leaked.
