12363980_1090039401030321_490599066_oChithuen Phendey Association has forwarded a letter to the police seeking intervention to rehabilitate an alcohol-dependent woman, 27, recently diagnosed with HIV positive. They are seeking assistance to take the woman to a rehabilitation center in India.

The association says the woman allegedly involved in sexual practice with multiple partners.

The woman also supposedly had multiple relapses after her rehabilitation treatment for alcohol dependency.
The woman has agreed to go to Rehabilitation center in India after their intervention, the police say.

If she refuses, according to the police, she will be arrested under section 410 of the Penal Code of Bhutan.

Section 410 of the Penal Code of Bhutan says a defendant shall be guilty of the offence of criminal nuisance, if the defendant knowingly or recklessly creates or maintains a condition including spreading of dangerous diseases that causes injury or endangers the safety or health of an individual or the public.
