Around this time of the year, hot springs across the country are crowded with visitors, an opportunity for the locals to earn some income. It is a similar story for Chhubu Tshachhu in Punakha where the number of visitors has been increasing every year. However, locals of  Kewanang-Tshachhuphu chiwog under Toedwang Gewog where the hot spring is located are not happy with the gewog administration in regard to the management of the hot spring. In the past, locals managed the Tshachhu on a rotational basis, but last year the management was taken over by the gewog office and handed over to a single individual.
