The economic affairs minister, Lekey Dorji said preliminary works are being carried out for the construction of Chamkharchhu Hydropower Project.

He was answering the question posed by Panbang MP, Dorji Wangdi, on the status of the project.

Lyonpo said the construction will start right after the completion of concession agreement for the Kholongchu Hydro Power Project.

“We are constructing a bridge at Ringdibi. If there is no bridge, the hydro power project cannot be constructed.”

He also said they are constructing road from Ringdibi to Digala.

“And also, the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement has contracted out a road widening work and blacktopping of other roads”.
