The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) forwarded a case involving four suspects for risking the protected species to Thimphu District Court yesterday.
OAG alleges that the four individuals have illegally collected the bones of a tiger and attempted to sell them.
It also requested the court to hand over the seized tiger bones to the concerned authority and penalise the suspects as per the Penal Code of Bhutan.
According to OAG, one of the suspects had found the decomposed carcass of a tiger in Memelakha forest last month and then shared about it to three other suspects.
The tiger bones were later hidden at one of the suspects house in Babesa but it was seized by forest officials following a tip-off from their informer.
