The Bhutan Tendrel Party has announced plans to reintroduce Gaydrungs in the gewogs if they secure victory as the fourth democratically elected government. The party president, Pema Chewang said this during a meeting with voters in Tsirang, today.

While appealing to potential voters in Tsirang, the BTP president said they will regularise contract employees if the party comes into power.

Pema Chewang said that the BTP will create a self-sustaining economy by generating employment and income-earning opportunities.

As for Tsirang District, the BTP president pledged to establish a dialysis service at Damphu Hospital.

He further added that the party plans to enhance healthcare services by introducing health screening services at people’s doorsteps and equipping Outreach Clinics with essential drugs.

For agriculture, the president committed to ensuring reliable irrigation water and providing chain-link fencing for farmers across the twelve gewogs in Tsirang.

During the meeting, the BTP’s general pledges such as creating paid temporary jobs for university graduates and increasing rural life insurance amounts were also highlighted.

The president also touched upon the party’s pledge to provide basic coverage for elderly citizens and universal basic coverage for persons living with disabilities and vulnerable groups among others.
