The body of a man, who drowned after the boat he was in capsized, was found on Saturday. The boat had capsized a month ago in the middle of Gongri River bordering Pema Gatshel and Monggar.
The body was seen by an Indian worker while he was working at the construction site near the river. The family members were informed through a phone call. The family members, who were at the location to perform a puja, recovered the body.
The incident is supposed to have happened while the contractor, along with four others, was transporting constructing materials across the River. Two of them were boatmen. They had hired a wooden motor boat from Barpeta in India to transport the materials.
The materials were for the construction of a new bridge.
The four others could swim to safety while the contractor was washed away.
