The eastern and central regions of the country will no longer have to wait for days during the entire power shut down or blackouts of the power system.

This is because the 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydropower Project Plant in Trongsa would adopt to restore supply in these regions from its generators in the quickest time. The project successfully achieved Black Start Testing yesterday.

A black start is a process of restoring an electric power station or a part of an electric grid to operation without relying on the external electric power transmission network to recover from the total or partial shutdown.
