The merger of Bhutan Opportunity Information Centre with Bhutan Development Bank shows government’s lack of thorough research, careless attitude, and incompetence towards governance, Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party’s President, Sonam Tobgay said.
He said BKP had earlier cautioned the government while instituting BOIC along the lines of implementation capacity and probable success and failures.
“Now less than two years of operation, the government is taking a step back and trying to institute or rather merge BOIC with BDBL.”
Sonam Tobgay said the question of accountability arises strongly in public discourse particularly so on the high transaction costs of BOIC so far.
“Therefore BKP would like to request the government, in the future, to undergo or to conduct thorough research studies prior to engaging in such decision making that cost dear to the country because flip flop decision making in governance only portrays something that we don’t desire for our leaders.”
