Bhutan’s senior women cricket team will compete in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Championship 2013. They will leave for Thailand on Monday. This is the third time the team is participating in the senior championship.
The same team, that took Bhutan to the third place in the Asian Cricket Council Under-19 Women’s Championship in Kuwait, will represent Bhutan in ACC women’s Championship this time.
The team will be headed by Capitan Ugyen Dema. She is confident that her team will perform well in the tournament.
Bhutan is placed in Group A along with Hong Kong, Nepal, Malaysia and UAE. Group B has China, Thailand, Singapore, Kuwait, Iran and Qatar.
Bhutan will play its first match against Malaysia on January 23, which will also kick start the Championship.
The final is scheduled for January 31.The winner of the ACC women’s Championship will get a chance to compete in Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier in Ireland.
