Bhutan slips 14 places in FIFA ranking-Bhutan has slipped a whopping 14 places in the FIFA ranking, since it competed in the second round of the World Cup qualifier in June this year. Bhutan is now placed at 173rd position. Prior to the second round qualifier, Bhutan’s ranking was 159.

The drastic drop in the ranking comes after three successive defeats in the second round World Cup qualifier and one defeat in a friendly match. The possibility of drop in ranking for Bhutan seems more by looking at the upcoming matches and its current form.

Bhutan, which is placed in Group C, in the second round World Cup qualifier sits at the bottom of the table. Bhutan is yet to score a goal and has conceded 28 goals from three matches.

Bhutan’s next game for the qualifier is against the Maldives which is scheduled to kick off next week in Changlimithang Stadium.
