The Bhutanese women’s team lost their opening match of this year’s SAFF Women’s Championship to Nepal yesterday.
The team suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Nepalese women. This puts the host nation on top of Group A with three points.
Bhutan is placed in Group A along with the host nation Nepal and Bangladesh, while Group B consists of India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
With yesterday’s defeat, the Bhutanese side will now have to win their next match to stay in the competition.
Bhutan will play Bangladesh in the last group match of the competition on Thursday. Six South Asian nations are taking part in the competition this time.
