Bhutan aims to be in top 100 countries as business destination

NA-top 100 countries as business destinationBhutan will be among the top 100 countries in the next two year in the ease of doing business, according to the Economic Affairs Minister, Norbu Wangchuk. Today, Bhutan stands at 141st position of the total 185 countries as reflected in the World Bank report.

To fulfill the target of being in the top 100, the minister said there is a need for a concerted effort to make processes more user-friendly and less bureaucratic.

Lyonpo said the Ministry of Economic Affairs has already identified plans and measures. Amendment of immigration act, companies act and supporting the business firm in acquiring environmental clearances and licenses faster are some of the measures among others in creating conducive environment for business.
