A bear has killed two calves and seriously wounded another two calves last night in Rukubji Chiwog under Sephu Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang.
Including yesterday’s attack, the bear has killed seven calves, two milking cows and wounded another two calves over the past couple of months. Villagers said they are worried about their safety, as bear is frequently sighted in their village.
Forestry officials are investigating the incidents and working on to compensate the affected households.
