A 16-year-old girl was mauled by a Himalayan black bear in Paro, yesterday. The class 8 student was on her way to school when the animal attacked her. The incident took place at around 8:25 am in Tabchheygang under Hoongrel Gewog. The victim suffered deep wounds to her face and neck. She is currently admitted in the Dzongkhag hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
The Forest officials have been unable to track down the bear yet.
