‘From clothes to coffee, to literature and movies, western culture is a big influence on Asian culture. Understanding and exploring one’s culture and tradition is important as it brings clarity to one’s existence and identity.’ This was a takeaway message from the ‘Asian Literary Society’s Caravan’ festival held virtually, yesterday.

The Asian Literary Society, based in New Delhi, was founded by an eminent writer and poet, Manoj Krishnan in 2017, to promote Asian Literature, globally. And the society chose Bhutan as the first country for its day-long festival, this year.

”We want to showcase Bhutan’s rich culture, art, and literary heritage all over Asia and we are glad to see such an overwhelming response from our members,” said Manoj Krishnan.

He added that Society is committed to promoting art, culture, and literature.

The festival highlighted the importance of the unique cultural and literary heritage of the Asian regions.

Bhutan’s eminent writers and journalists attended the panel discussion that discussed various aspects of Bhutanese heritage, art, literature, and culture.

The society also organised an online art exhibition on the theme ‘Bhutan’.
