Art exhibition-Culture of BhutanAn art exhibition on the theme ‘Culture of Bhutan’ was organised at Vast Gallery in Thimphu. It was organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh to observe Shahid Dibash and International Mother Language Day.

The Education Minister, Mingbo Dukpa inaugurated the art exhibition. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the art competition in both junior and senior category.

Bangladesh observes Shahid Dibash or Language Martyrs Day on February 21, every year, to commemorate the sacrifices made by many in 1952 to preserve Bangla as a national language.

The Bengali Language Movement promoted UNESCO to dedicate February 21 as International Mother Language Day.

Since 2000, the day was observed worldwide to promote linguistic, cultural diversity and multilingualism.
