The Ambassadors of Brazil, Czech, Denmark, the Maldives and Nepal, presented their credentials to His Majesty the King at the grand Kuenrey in Tashi Chhoedzong, today.
Tovar da Silva Nunes is the new Ambassador of Brazil to Bhutan. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Minister of External Relations Office. He has held several important positions since the 1980’s.
Milan Hovorka is the new Ambassador of Czech to Bhutan. He began his professional career in 1984 in the federal ministry of foreign trade. He played a leadership role in shaping and implementing trade and export promotion policies of the Czech Republic.
Peter Taksoe-Jensen is the new Ambassador of Denmark to Bhutan. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Ambassador of Denmark to the United States. Before that he also served as the Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs in the United Nations.
Ahmed Mohamed takes over as the Maldivian Ambassador to Bhutan. He has M.Sc in Economics from the UK. He joined the civil service as a project officer in 1989.
Ambassador of Nepal to Bhutan is Deep Kumar Upadhyay. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nepal. A father of three, the Ambassador has had a distinguished social political career which he began as an elected Chairman of Village Panchayat in 1974.
Following the presentation of credentials, His Majesty the King granted an audience to the Ambassadors at the courtyard of the Tashichhoedzong.
