The appointment of Attorney General (AG) is often affiliated with politics, but Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said his government will refrain from making political appointment.

Lyonchhen said this at the Friday Meet with Media Persons held at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang this morning.

“As far as they are working in line with the prescribed terms and conditions, we are happy with anybody who does the job,” he said.

“They have a fixed term just now. As the term finishes, we will talk about that. We have no intentions of changing the whole thing that we can change,” the prime minister added.

“The serving Attorney General is Dasho Shera. If he does good job, we don’t have any problem. As we are soft, mild and happy with whatever is happening now. But we will also equally be tough and bold enough to take any bold decisions if required.”
