The Ambassador designates of Afghanistan and Serbia presented their credentials to His Majesty the King today.
The Ambassador of Afghanistan, Shaida Mohammed Abdali, served as the Deputy National Security Advisor and Special Assistant to the President of Afghanistan prior to his current appointment. He had also worked with a number of international humanitarian relief organizations in and outside Afghanistan.
Ambassador Abdali has bachelor’s degrees in political science and natural sciences, and obtained his M.A. in Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University of the United States.
Ambassador Abdali is a recipient of Afghan Presidential Certificate of Appreciation and the Achievement and Excellence Award.
Ambassador Jovan Mirilovic is the first Ambassador of Serbia to Bhutan. Bhutan established formal diplomatic ties with Serbia in 2011.
Ambassador Mirilovic is a graduate of University of Belgrade. He joined Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978.
Over a career span of more than three decades in the foreign affairs ministry, Ambassador Mirilovic has served in various capacities. The positions he had held include First Secretary at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and Minister Counselor at the Embassy in Republic of Slovenia.
