Asian Development Bank (ADB) with Norway and Japan will be helping Bhutan in managing its clean energy and water resources. They will be providing assistance under two different projects.
According to a news release, the Government of Norway is providing 5.7 million US Dollars grant under climate change initiative. The fund will be used to help the government prepare a Renewable Energy Master Plan and National Energy Efficiency among others.
The grant from Japan which amounts to 1.5 million US Dollar will be put into Poverty Reduction. About 250,000 US dollars grant from Multi Donor Trust Fund under the Water Financing Partnership Facility of ADB will help the NEC and Agriculture Department in managing the water resources.
The news release also says the project will fund the completion of the National Integrated Water Resources Management Plan and the National Irrigation Plan. The Bhutan Government will provide 250,000 US Dollars for the project with in-kind contributions.
