A tiger again killed an ox in Nubi Gewog, Trongsa on Sunday. This time the kill is spotted at a kilometre distance in the periphery of Karshong village after a pregnant cow was killed at Semji village in the same gewog a week ago.

According to the owner of the ox, the predator could only get away with one of the limbs of the ox. He said spotting the carcass without much delay was the reason for losing only the leg part. He added Karshong village alone lost around eight cattle so far this year but left unreported to concern authorities as there is no compensation.

People in the gewog say it is high time the rising issues and probable threats to human lives need to be discussed in the parliament and come up with a solution before it is too late.

Similarly, Tangsibji Gewog lost two oxen to the tiger attack last Thursday. Another one was also wounded on the same night. Only the head and limbs of the two oxen were found while the one injured died the next day according to the Tangsibji Gewog livestock officials. The locals claim to sight a tigress with three cubs.
