After the previous doctor was sent for studies, the grade-one Basic Health Unit in Zhemgang has been running without a doctor for almost four months.
The medical care ,they have been receiving, is not as effective as it should be, according to the residents of Zhemgang. They say they are being treated by health assistants and health workers. Some say the referral cases have increased by manifolds, which according to them, to quite inconvenient.
The Dzongkhag Health Supervisor Officer, Sangay Tenzin, said the Dzongkhag Authority has written to the Ministry of Health for an immediate replacement number of times.
