A 23-year old man from Trashi Yangtse is under Trongsa Police custody in connection with making a prank call. The accused dialled the national health helpline 112 and falsely informed about a motor vehicle accident at Kuengarabten on the night of 26th June.
Sources say an ambulance from Dangdung rushed to the spot but the accident couldn’t be located.
The man was arrested in Bumthang and had claimed that he was intoxicated by alcohol and hence committed the mistake.
Such reporting of false information is graded as a petty misdemeanour as per the Penal Code of Bhutan.
