A 17-year-old boy has lost his eyesight of his left eye after he was stabbed with a knife on the face in the early hours of the New Year.

He was driving back home at around 2am after dropping his friends when he stopped his car to answer a call of nature near the Bangladeshi Embassy. A group of men appeared out of nowhere and assaulted him.

His aunt said the assailants realized that they had attacked the wrong person only after they stabbed him.

Doctors described his condition as stable.

Police are looking for the suspects.
