UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador Aamir Khan visits BHU

aamir-khan-in-bhutanThe UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia, Aamir Khan arrived in the country, yesterday. The Bollywood’s superstar is on a two-day visit to the country.

Aamir Khan visited the Basic Health Unit (BHU) at Drukgyel in Paro where he met and interacted with young mothers and children. Excited fans in the community also gathered to get a glimpse of the famous actor.

Aamir Khan will have an advocacy meeting with the Prime Minister today. He will also talk to adolescents and youth in Thimphu with focus on good nutrition.

The Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies is also launching ‘The RIGSS Dialogue” in Thimphu and Aamir Khan will be the guest for the inaugural.

Aamir Khan was appointed the UNICEF Regional Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia in October 2014.

His first visit as regional goodwill ambassador was to Nepal, where he discussed and interacted with the audiences, especially children, youth and women on the importance of nutrition.
