His Majesty graces Tango University’s new campus consecration

His Majesty graces Tango University new campus’s consecration-His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo graced the consecration ceremony of the new campus of Tango University of Buddhist Studies at Dodena, today.His Majesty the King was received with a traditional Chipdrel ceremony followed by Marchang.

Other members of the Royal family were also present during the ceremony.

Yonten Lopen and Leytshog lopen presided over the consecration ceremony.

Tango University new campus’s consecrationThe campus will have a Tshokhang, academic building, dormitories, guest houses, library, and IT facilities.

Currently, there are around 380 monks studying Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Tango University of Buddhist Studies.

The construction work began in 2010, with the financial support of Nu 250M, from the Government of India.Tango University new campus’s consecration--

The university is situated around 17 kilometres away from Thimphu. The academic session will begin next year.
