Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay, during the inauguration of the road construction last Saturday, said the road will benefit the people of western region economically and strategically.

“The 200 metre long bridge, is going to provide an alternate bridge and road to the important valley and airport in Paro”, Lyonchhen added.

Project DANTAK is undertaking the construction works. While the 12.6 km link road is being constructed at an estimate cost of Nu 852 M, the bridge will incur Nu. 335 M.

Cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, and officials from Border Roads Organization, Project DANTAK, and Indian Embassy were also present during the ground breaking ceremony.
