Some 400 young job seekers will be trained and employed in fashion and retail stores in the Middle East countries during its first year. They will be trained at the Global Retail Academy here in the capital.
The academy was established by the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources in collaboration with one of the companies in the Middle East.
The Academy expects to train about 100 people in 8 weeks.
Upon completion of the training, they will be sent to work under different fashion and retail chain of stores in the Middle East countries.
The programme is especially targeted to female graduate job seekers in order to reduce the rising female unemployment.
The Academy was inaugurated by the Labour and Human Resource Minister at the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences in the capital on Wednesday.
